Hello, loyal followers! I’m finally back to tell you about this past week (Thanksgiving Break), and how this week is going so far. Brace yourselves, though, this post might be a little long since I’ve been away for so long, but it’ll be worth it. So, this past week was really awesome, but, also, kind of stressful at the same time. The best part was that my aunt who lives in another state got to come over and stay with us for the whole week. It was awesome, because she used to live pretty close to us, just about 10-15 minutes away, and, before she moved, my dad, brother and I would go over to her place a lot and play games, so we got to do that. The only difference was, my brother didn’t get to come over the break. Although, my uncle was there one of the days, and he played games with us. It was a lot of fun. Oh, and for Thanksgiving dinner, we had a lot of awesome food. I ate so much that, for the remainder of the break after that, I felt really fat! But, it was totally worth it. The food was great, and the family time made it even better. Another thing is, my grandpa finally got to come home from the rehab center he was in. That is great, but, I have to say, him coming back has caused plenty of stress for the whole family. He can’t really do much for himself anymore, so my grandma, dad, me, and anyone else who happens to be at our house who’s family has to help take care of him, and it can be exhausting, I really don’t know what the future holds as far as that goes, but things are starting to get a little better since we’ve been having actual medical professionals to come and help out for a few hours each day. Anyway, I’ll change the subject to something more positive. How about… this week, perhaps?

I will start this section off by talking about Monday. You won’t believe the first thing that happened. Monday morning, when I first woke up to get ready for school, I can’t even describe how ready to go I was. I got up, got dressed, ate, and waited for my dad to come pick me up and take me out to the buses. But, after waiting until it was really, really close to time to go, he didn’t show. Before I go any further, I’d just like to say that I do live with my grandparents, but my dad lives literally right beside us. So, in the end, I had to make two journeys down to his place and back, through the wet grass, because it was raining. Turns out, somehow he overslept, so he ended up having to take me all the way to my school, because, by the time he got ready, my bus and the other buses were already long gone from the elem. school. Neither me nor my dad knew for sure if I would make it in time to not be late for my first class, but, luckily, I got there just in time. Now that, I believe, is the most interesting thing I’ve had to do on any morning. Now I will skip ahead to lunch later that day. There are two good friends of mine, who are in my GS Crew, who I always sit with. Let me tell you, we’re maniacs! One of them said something, but I thought she said something completely different from what she did say, and we all almost died laughing! It was great. Skipping ahead again, I will tell you about after school, what happened at archery practice, and about what happened before, during and after softball practice. So, this week I decided to go to archery practice instead of going to a meeting with my GS Crew. However, after I got to archery, there were times I kind of wished I would’ve gone to the meeting. Our coach is even worse than she was, according to my teammates, and, surprisingly, even I’m starting to upset with her at times. There was one time Monday where I even walked up to her, looked her straight in the eye, and told her that I could just walk out if I wanted to. But, I did end up staying. Although, archery actually ended early, so I did have time to go over to the other building and spend a few minutes with my GS Crew. I got there, then, after only a minute, I started kind of regretting that. So, I walked into the room and, before I knew it, my hair was being braided for the first time. Alright, so I said that I regretted it, but, not really, because I actually looked pretty sweet with my hair braided, kind of like Katniss from The Hunger Games. After that, I only stayed a few more minutes before going back to the gym to find out that my archery buddy had decided not to stay for softball because she was feeling sick. I was kind of sad about that, and we stayed there a few minutes while I decided whether I wanted to stay at the gym all by myself or go with them to her cousin’s house where she would drop her cousin and I off. Eventually, I decided to stay at the gym. So, my archery buddy, being as nice as she is, gave me a snack that she had with her so that I wouldn’t starve while I was there. So, then I walked out with her and her parents who were there and saw them off. Well, almost. I actually stood by the gym doors for a couple minutes, then, as something only I would think of doing, I decided to go outside to see how cold it was. As soon as I did that, I noticed my archery buddy hadn’t left yet, and she proceeded to call me over to her car. She said that her cousin’s house has WiFi, which is what I needed so I could do homework, and why I first decided to stay. But, I ended up going with them. And, you know what? I’m glad I did. My archery buddy’s cousin’s mom was expecting all of us to come, so she made a big supper, and I was able to eat dinner with them, which was really nice. As I was eating, I told the cousin how nice it was for me to be able to keep coming to their house like that, and that it felt like I was slowly becoming part of their family. And guess what she said? She said that I am like a part of their family now, and they love me like family. And, with that, I swear I almost burst into tears. It seriously made me feel awesome. Skipping ahead yet again, it was the cousin’s mom who drove us back to the gym for softball.

Nothing much happened on the way there, but, after we finally arrived, I went and opened my big mouth by telling them I sing, which, even with last year, not a lot of people know I can. So, since there weren’t a lot of cars in the parking lot yet, she told me to sing them a song. Let me tell you, I was hesitant. So, I ended up telling them how I don’t really do well in sudden situations like that, because I can’t really think of a good song to sing right on the spot. And, get this, after that, she actually threatened to drive laps around the school, so that I couldn’t get out, until I sang something. Luckily, though, we ran out of time. So, the cousin and I left her mom’s car and entered into the gym, after her mom said she’ll make me sing something next time I come over. At practice, the thing I guess I had the most trouble with was getting my hips into my swing when I bat. Other than that, I did pretty good. Wait until we get to yesterday’s, though. When it was over, I actually walked out without saying anything to anyone, because I guess I was deep in thought.

When I got home, I did everything the way I normally do after getting back from softball practice, but, something ended up happening that I never would have imagined. Before I get into that, I’ll just say that I ended up having to miss the next day of school. When I got back, I told my friends who asked that I was really sick, like, stomach sick, and it was bad. What I didn’t tell them, though, was that I had to go to the ER at after 1 in the morning. It was that bad, but, luckily, I was able to make a full recovery and come back the very next day, Wednesday. Now, and finally, on to yesterday.

Yesterday was AWESOME. I’ll just go ahead and skip to after school, because that’s when everything starts picking up anymore, at least of softball practice days. When school let out, I went to ride with my archery buddy and her cousin to her cousin’s house like I always do, but, this time, we changed things up a little. Before we went to the cousin’s house, we actually went out to eat, and it was great! After that, we went to the cousin’s house, and things slowed down after that. I wasn’t able to sing a song like I planned. I was supposed to sing a Christmas carol (cause it’s that time of year), but I really wasn’t able to get enough practice in. So, it was postponed. But, I did tell them about my other talent, writing poetry. I even showed them my collections, and they all thought my poems were really good. Shortly afterward, we left for practice. Let me tell you, with this practice, I went harder than ever! It was really physically exerting, and I pushed myself to the point where it felt like I was gonna throw up! But, hey, this first year of softball for me is also my last, so, gotta give it my all, right? But I improved a lot yesterday. The coaches hardly stopped me to correct me for anything, except a couple times when I was batting. Also, I’m getting to interact with the other players a lot more, which is awesome for me. So yeah, it was epic. Well, that’s it for now, at least until next week. Oh, really sorry this post was so long. Later!

Come back for my next post!
